This week I had a pretty normal week of consumption of media. I watch sportscenter every night to keep up with what is going on in the world of sports. I am a huge sports fan so i always try to wacth it atleast once a day. I feel better watching it over other sports shows because not only does it cover the local chicago sports, but also shows whats going on around the nation. I also tuned into ESPN when I watched NFL Primetime. I watched that for a preview of the NFL playoff matches coming up later on in the week. I feel that the show attracts me msot because their analysts are former players that know the game best. I love watching the show to see what these former players think will happen in the games and because I myself am a huge football fan. After watching the program, i tuned in the weekend wacthing every football playoff game(a whopping 12 hours!). Because this is the playoffs, the teams seem to play harder because they realize that if they lose they are done for the season. This attracts my attention even moreso because it is interesting to see what team will prevail.
Besides watching football all weekend long, I also went out to a few clubs. There were many songs played by popular artists such as Akon. I do not remember most of the songs but there was one in particular that got my attention. This song was Right Now by Akon and it is a very catchy tune. I listened to the music because it was fun to dance to and because i was having a lot of fun. I also listened to music when i was hanging out at my apartment. I like to sit down and listen to Dr. Dre, and even played the entire 2001 CD. I played it while cleaning so while i would listen to most songs, some songs did not catch my attention. I also listened to some MGMT and Slightly Stoopid when i went to visit friends at the dorms.
The other media consumption i spent my most time on was the internet. Everytime i am on the computer i check my facebook and email; it is almost second hand instinct now. I will spend a lot of time on the two which keep me from reading as many books and magazine articles. I only read when I have to, which was the case this week when I read pages in the Media Literacy text for my Media Literacy class, and the same goes for the Chicago Blues text. I go on facebook to keep in touch with my friends and to see what people are doing and how they have been. I also went to verizonwireless.com because i needed to search for a cell phone charger because I had lost mine. Because i did not find one there, i checked craigslist.com and found one for 2 dollars. Craigslist is a site i go on when i need something for a lower price. This is how i found my apartment and how I am continuing to search for a digital camera for both my photography and my media literacy class. I go to craigslist because it is very simple: no advertisements, no links, just products and names to contact. For the msot part, I do not consume much media this week because i spent a lot of time working out, going out, and playing sports. Until next week.
